My partner, Dennis McDonald, is the owner of the legendary Open Spear Ranch and a 52 year AQHA Horse Breeder. I have been breeding puppies for 20 years. We both love all dogs but are partial to Labs, Shar-Peis, and Border Collies, and of course we love puppies!
Everyday the puppies are rotated into the house for socializing by the both of us. They have outdoor kennel raising and inside manners. Most vets in Montana do not believe in cutting dew claws. God put them there for a reason…right?
As older puppies, they ride in ranch vehicles back and forth. They know how to be around cows and horses. They are made aware of ranch traffic.
Our puppies get the best nutrition available, are fat, and happy. They get young puppies; a full range of shots at 8 weeks. Required by Montana Law and most states. Please call with any questions. We love visitors at the ranch. We are close to Yellowstone Park, so plan your puppy pick-up while on Vacation. We usually offer just one litter a year, so get your reservation in asap. We will call you to make confirm your reservation.
